Coming up this Easter

Ilkeston United Reformed Church warmly invites the community to join in a series of special events and services as we journey through Holy Week and celebrate Easter together.

Kicking things off is a family-friendly Easter Egg Hunt taking place this Saturday. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children and families to enjoy some fun together while celebrating the joy of Easter. Keep an eye out for the poster for full details.

As Holy Week begins, there will be a Maundy Thursday Communion Service on Thursday 2nd April at 7:00pm in the church. This reflective service remembers the Last Supper and offers a quiet space for prayer and communion as we prepare for the events of Good Friday and Easter Day.

On Good Friday (3rd April), Ilkeston United Reformed Church will host the start of the Ilkeston Churches Together Walk of Witness. The morning begins with a short service at 10:00am at Ilkeston United Reformed Church on Wharncliffe Road, before participants process through the Market Place and down Bath Street to Ilkeston Methodist Church. The walk will conclude there with a short act of worship and the sharing of traditional hot cross buns. All are welcome to take part in this public act of remembrance and unity between local churches.

Finally, on Easter Day, everyone is invited to a joyful Café Church celebration at 10:30am, which will include Holy Communion. This relaxed and welcoming service will celebrate the resurrection of Christ and the hope of Easter, with space for conversation, reflection, and fellowship.

Whether you are a regular worshipper or simply curious to explore the meaning of Easter, you are warmly invited to join us for these special moments during this important season.
